Modified Rules
Modified versions of Australian football have been developed by Aussie Rules UK to assist the growth and development of the game in the UK.
The reasons for developing a version of Aussie Rules that can be played on soccer and rugby fields is:
1. The lack of space in the UK is a major issue. Access to cricket fields is difficult. As soccer and rugby fields are in plentiful supply it makes sense to be able to utilise them.
2. Recruits can learn a new game whilst in surrounds they are comfortable with, therefore allowing for greater concentration on developing skills.
Even though the game is played on cricket fields in Australia, we have some variations and adaptions which enables the game to be played on soccer and rugby fields.
